Corrections and Retraction Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record by ensuring that errors, misconduct, or concerns in published articles are addressed transparently and responsibly across all journals published by Nitee Publication.
Corrections
- When errors are identified in published articles, Nitee Publication will consider the appropriate corrective action.
- The Editor(s), author(s), and the authors’ institution(s) may be consulted to determine the best course of action.
- Corrigendum: Issued when errors are introduced by the authors that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions.
- Erratum: Issued when errors are introduced by the publisher during the production process.
Retractions and Expressions of Concern
- If errors significantly affect the conclusions of the article, or if there is evidence of misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, unethical research practices), Nitee Publication may issue a retraction or an expression of concern.
- Retractions will be clearly labelled and linked to the original article, which will remain accessible but marked as retracted.
- Expressions of concern may be issued when an investigation is ongoing but unresolved.
- All actions will be taken in line with internationally recognised best practices, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Retraction Guidelines, which emphasise transparency, accountability, and preservation of the scholarly record.
- Retractions and expressions of concern will also be signaled through CrossMark, so readers can easily identify the current status of the article.
Publisher’s Commitment
- Nitee Publication will publish corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern promptly and transparently.
- The editorial team ensures that all actions taken are consistent with international standards of publishing ethics.
- The integrity of the scholarly record is prioritised, and all decisions are made in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- By participating in CrossMark, Nitee Publication provides readers with a reliable way to check whether an article is current, corrected, or retracted.
