This paper reviews the multifaceted issue of corporate corruption and its implications for Sustainable Development Goal 16.5, which calls for a substantial reduction of bribery and corruption by 2030. It identifies institutional and organizational vulnerabilities that contribute to unethical practices, emphasizing internal corporate structures, leadership styles, ethical philosophies, and regulatory frameworks. Using a thematic approach, the authors explore how different ethical ideologies and leadership models influence anti-corruption behavior within firms. The study advocates for balanced regulatory strategies and ethical leadership to strengthen corporate integrity and operational transparency.
