The Development of Hindi Adivasi Novels (हिन्दी आहदवासी उपन्यास का ववकास)
Abstract
This research paper argues that the development of Hindi Adivasi novels represents a significant achievement in Indian literature, as it has articulated the voice of Adivasi society within the literary sphere. It demonstrates that the novel as a genre is not merely a literary creation but also a reflection of social reality. Adivasi novels foreground the life, culture, traditions, and struggles of Adivasi communities, thereby highlighting issues such as inequality, poverty, hunger, exploitation, and administrative challenges prevalent in society. The study further underlines that both non-Adivasi and Adivasi writers have contributed to enriching this literary tradition. While non-Adivasi writers have focused on Adivasi issues, Adivasi writers have presented their culture, traditions, and lived experiences in an authentic and realistic manner. Thus, the paper contends that Adivasi novels have generated a new consciousness in literature toward social justice, cultural preservation, and community solidarity.
